HALE, JONAS - Came to Texas in November, 1833, as is shown in Headright Certificate No. 63 issued to him for one labor of land by the Board of Land Commissioners for San Augustine County. He was a member of Captain __________Company and was on November 21, 1840 issued Donation Certificate No. 1090 for 640 acres of land for having been detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 286 for 320 acres of land, November 14, 1837 for having served in the army from March 15 to June 15, 1836.

Mr. Hale was living in San Augustine County October 8, 1850 when he sold his donation certificate to Wilson Ewing.
