FREEMAN, THOMAS - Came to Texas in January, 1835, an is shown in Headright Certificate No. 133 issued to him February 1, 1838 for one-third of a league of land by the Bastrop County Board. Land surveyed in Dallas County.

Mr. Freeman was issued Donation Certificate No. 32 for 640 acres of land, April 30, 1846 for having been detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg. The land was surveyed in the Bexar Land District in what is now Burnet County.
Mr. Freeman first joined the army December 18, 1835. He joined Captain John Chenoweth’s Company August 17, 1836 and on December 31, 1836 he was a member of Captain John McClure’s Company. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 2801 for 1280 acres of land, April 9, 1838 for having served in the army from December 18, 1835 to November 6, 1837.
Mr. Freeman was a member of the Texas Veterans Association. He died in 1889.
