ADAMS, THOMAS JEFFERSON -- In Book B, page 67 of the list of applicants for land in Austin’s Colonies it is shown that when Mr. Adams applied for land October 2, 1835, he stated that he was 24 years of age and had arrived in Texas in 1834 from Mississippi, single. He was not granted the land. In the Headright Certificate issued to him February 6, 1838, for one league and one labor of land by the board of Land Commissioners for Matagorda County it is stated that he came to Texas in 1835.
